Terms of Service

1. What this is

Edison Online is an unofficial, non-commercial fan project for playing Yu-Gi-Oh! in the Edison format (March 2010). It is run by one person, at their own expense, as a hobby. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Konami Digital Entertainment or Shueisha.

“Yu-Gi-Oh!”, card names, card text and card images are the property of their respective rights holders and are used here for non-commercial study and play. If you hold rights in this material and want something removed, contact the operator and it will be removed.

2. No warranty, no guarantee

The service is provided as is, free of charge, with no warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, it may lose data, and it may be shut down permanently at any time without notice. Do not rely on it for anything important. Replays and match history are a convenience, not a record; keep your own copy of any decklist you care about — the “Download my data” button on your profile will give you everything the site holds.

3. Your account

4. Fair use of the site

Please do not:

The operator may suspend or delete an account, or block an address, to keep the site working and its players safe. Because the site is run by one person in their spare time, the usual remedy for a problem is “stop, and talk to the operator”.

5. Your content

Your decks, notes and profile belong to you. By saving them here you give the operator permission to store them and to show them to the people you are playing with (a public deck is visible to anyone; a private one is not).

Games are recorded as replays so they can be replayed. A replay contains both players' moves. Deleting your account deletes your replays and removes those games from your opponents' history too — see the Privacy Policy.

6. The engine

The duel engine is built on code licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 or later (AGPL-3.0-or-later), together with card scripts from the ProjectIgnis CardScripts project. The corresponding source for the engine is published at github.com/lexxns/playedison-engine, and the licence texts ship inside the running image. The engine runs as a separate program and the site talks to it over a process boundary; the site's own source is not covered by that licence.

7. Changes

These terms may change. If a change matters, it will be announced on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — subject to any right you have as a consumer to bring proceedings where you live.

9. Contact

Rights holders, abuse reports and anything else: abuse@playedison.com, or privacy@playedison.com for data matters. Either reaches the operator.
